Once again, OCI welcomes back Kyla Smith to the team in her second season as a Movement Coordinator and Visual Ensemble teacher.

Kyla holds a degree in Philosophy from Fresno State University, where she has also done work towards her Masters in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. As a performer, Kyla was a member of the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets and the San Jose Raiders Dance Company. During her time in Fresno she performed with numerous dance ensembles while maintaining a full schedule as a student and instructor for several area Colorguards. She is also a co-founder of Frente, an Independent guard from that region.

Kyla has served as the Colorguard Caption Head for the Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps, the Clovis West HS Colorguard, was on the staff for Delano HS and Frente Winterguards, and is currently on staff with the Oregon Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps. Kyla is also the Colorguard Caption Head for Century HS in Hillsboro, OR.

Kyla enjoys gourmet vegetarian cooking, her super cool fiance' Will, running her own business, and dreams of one day owning her own Bassett Hound.
