OCI is pleased to welcome Mr. John Gillilan to the instructional staff for the 2012 season. John was an esteemed member of the Cadets "Holy Bass" line and we are excited about the wealth of experience he brings to the table for our students.

John is a native of the east coast and holds a Bachelors degree and Masters degree in Civil Engineering from West Virginia University. John was involved with multiple percussion groups in the Mid-Atlantic region at the drum corps, college, and high school levels for over 11 years.

His Drum Corps experience includes marching with the Cadets of Bergen County Holy Bassline from 1996 to 1999, where the corps won a world championship and multiple regional championships. 

Currently, John lives in Portland and works full time as a regional engineer for many conservation and agriculture groups in Oregon. He likes to spend his free time in the outdoors cycling, hiking, skiing and generally lost in the woods.
