ABOUT OCI
OC Indoor is a competitive indoor percussion ensemble formed in the fall of 2008 in order to give local students an opportunity to continue or further their performance opportunities beyond high school. For years, students from our area were forced to either relocate or spend thousands of dollars in order to participate in a group of this nature. In only our first year of competition, OCI won both the regional and World championships. Once accepted in OCI, students will be receiving instruction and show design of the highest caliber available.
OCI is part of our parent organization, THE OREGON CRUSADERS which includes both the Oregon Crusaders Indoor Percussion Ensemble (OCI) and the Oregon Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps.
OC Indoor consists primarily of students age 17-22 that compete in the Winterguard International circuit. The season runs from November-April and includes the local circuit (NWAPA) and national championships in Dayton Ohio. Oregon Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps consists of Percussion, Color Guard, and Brass musicians age 14-22 and tours during the summer months, culminating at the DCI World Championships in August. Many prospective members audition for and participate in both groups. We encourage anyone interested in furthering their participation in the marching arts to audition for both groups. Our professional staff will be able to assess which ensemble the student is suited for, and provide them with valuable tools that will enable them to participate in one or the other (or both if financially viable!).
